What Is Biblical Counseling?
Biblical counseling is the Christ-centered ministry of God’s Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit and offered in love, to help people grow in faith and obedience as part of the Great Commission. It’s not about quick tips, but about walking with you over time so that your heart, thinking, and choices are shaped by the truth and promises of Scripture.
Christ-Centered
We don’t offer generic advice. We open the Scriptures to help you see Christ—His character, His work, and His presence with you in every circumstance.
Scripture-Focused
God’s Word is our authority and our comfort. We seek to apply it carefully and wisely to the specific details of your life.
Church-Minded
Counseling is not a replacement for the church. Whenever possible, we aim to work alongside local churches and pastors as part of a larger care plan.
Meet Ryan Thomason
Seminary-Trained, Certified Biblical Counselor
I’m Ryan, a biblical counselor committed to helping people find steady hope in Christ. I hold a Master of Divinity in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and an advanced certification from the Association of Biblical Counselors.
I’ve walked with men, couples, and ministry leaders through anxiety, suffering, marital conflict, and seasons of deep weariness. My aim is simple: to listen carefully, to open God’s Word faithfully, and to walk with you patiently as you learn to trust Christ in the details of your life.

Stories of Help and Hope
We’re grateful for the many God has encouraged through this ministry. Here is one story, shared with permission.
Biblical Help and Hope helped me at a time of great anxiety and uncertainty. I felt hopeless, anxious, and unable to trust anyone or anything in my life. Ryan helped me understand what I was experiencing in light of what God had to say about it. His understanding and application of Scripture helped me to trust again and renewed my joy in my relationships.

QUESTIONS?
Frequently Asked Questions
It’s normal to have questions before reaching out. Here are a few honest answers to help you understand what biblical counseling looks like with this ministry.
Is biblical counseling the same as professional therapy?
Biblical Help and Hope Ministries offers pastoral, biblical counseling rooted in God’s Word. We are not licensed professional counselors and do not provide clinical mental health treatment. Some situations may require medical or psychiatric care in addition to biblical counseling, and we’re glad to encourage you to seek appropriate help when needed.
Do you offer virtual counseling?
Yes. We offer secure virtual sessions for individuals and couples who are unable to meet in person, allowing us to serve people beyond our immediate area.
How long does counseling usually last?
It varies. Some people meet for a handful of sessions around a focused issue; others benefit from a longer season of care. We’ll discuss a wise plan together as we go.
Do you work with my pastor or church?
Whenever possible, we love to partner with local churches and pastors. With your permission, we can coordinate care with those already shepherding you.
What if I’m not sure I’m ready?
That’s okay. You can start by reaching out through the Contact form with your questions. We’d be glad to talk with you before you schedule a full session.
